"My almost 10 year old Bedlington Terrier Toby had been treated for pain and lameness in his left leg with no real relief. The veterinarian thought it was a pinch
in his neck. I then consulted with Dr Craft who gave him a full body massage, with emphasis on the neck and shoulders.
"She determined that the problem was in his
shoulder, and gave that special attention while doing her massage. It has been nearly a month and he has shown no signs of lameness or pain since Dr Craft gave him a massage."

It is very important for dogs in agility and obedience training to have massage to relax their muscles and ligaments to prevent musculo-skeletal injuries from occurring!
(see my book Enjoy a Healthy Dog Forever to understand what causes injuries and how to prevent them!))
My Vision for the Animal Kingdom
By C. Joy Craft, D.V.M.
Ever since I was a young girl I knew what I wanted to do for my life purpose. I always thought being a veterinarian would take care of all my desires, helping the animal kingdom in a deep and meaningful way.
It wasn't until after I was practicing veterinary medicine for many years that I realized that I wasn't fulfilling my dream of healing the entire animal world and doing so with love. After I had written my second book about an orphaned owl named Simon, I had a very important vision. I saw people getting up in the morning and going out to the barn to take care of their animals before they took care of themselves. I saw the entire world putting their animals first instead of last!
For many years I thought about how this could be done. Suddenly, I knew that massage and other holistic techniques, all part of alternative veterinary medicine, were the answer. The love that goes with this kind of healing work was exactly what the animal community needed. Not only would this change our perception of the animal kingdom, but it would change the animals' perception of us from owner to a trusted keeper. Now that I am teaching animal health, including Dog Massage and Horse Massage, at this special level of healing for animals, I truly am accomplishing my life's purpose and my deepest joy.
Much Aloha,
Dr. C. Joy Craft
